Verbeeldingen van Ambachten

Thorn, small town, great history
Like a tiny white pearl of medieval town-planning the small town of Thorn lies on the bank of the river Maas, as if placed there by the caring hand of a giant - slap-bang - in the middle of the Dutch province Limburg
t'Landt van Eendracht
The first landing on the West Coast was by Dirk Hartogh in 1616. Hartogh sailed north up the coast, charting the shore line to North West Cape thereby starting the process of 'unveiling' the mysterious coast of a new land.
He called that part of the Southland's coast "t'Landt van d'Eendracht".
Frans Hertoghs' regular contributions about public affairs in New Zealand.
The Dutch version of this article is published in the July-August 2007 (eighth) edition of Holland Focus. The English version is available here.
A new comic strip, created and illustrated by Edo Fuijkschot.
The adventures of Dutch conman Frank Crooke start when he staggers from the wreckage of HMS Descent on to the remote west coast of Australia.
400th birth year of Michiel de Ruyter
24 March 2007 was exactly 400 years ago that this praised admiral and sea hero was born in Vlissingen. It goes without saying: De Ruyter is unmistakably one of the most famous Dutchmen.
